It's A Hrvat Life

One and a half months away from home, and while there have been trials and tribulations life is good, fall in Croatia is beautiful and smells great, and I'm a happy camper. Coffee with friends never gets old, I love running into people randomly on the bus, and I am dying to start learning how to make Croatian food! Time is sprinting by at a pace rivaling Usain Bolt and I'm learning so much everyday, especially the language. I find it hilarious that watching dumb American sitcoms here can be educational because of the Croatian subtitles and the lightbulb-click moments that happen when I finally realize what a pesky word means through the subtitles! Ding.

This is Oliver. He is not feeling at all guilty for the sock thievery committed earlier.
Guess what? We have a mystery dog who's been squatting with us for almost a week. He's kind of needy.

Zoo selfies

Mysterious beaver-like creature with orange teeth that spends 90% of its time itching itself.
Guess what? Somehow I have still never seen an elephant in person. It's like the zoos hear that I am coming and get rid of their elephants just in time.

Step 1: lots of Japanese food

Step 2: Errr....how do you work these chopstick things

Step 3: Yeah, that happened. We did eat that much. Except not the mysterious fried thing with a claw sticking out the side.

I love my buds here.
Guess what? I haven't gotten off at the wrong bus stop in almost a week. Progress? I think so.
(PS I blame "This American Life" for most of these mishaps. I just get so into them and forget to get off. Also a problem when I start laughing hysterically and everyone sitting next to me thinks I'm insane.)
